Deep Silver's upgraded compilation of the Metro series has received a release date. The upcoming collection of Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033 known as Metro Redux is set to arrive on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on August 26.

As mentioned previously, Metro Redux will offer complete remasters of each of the series installments as individual downloads for $24.99. However, a boxed compilation will also be available at retail for $49.99.

Both games can be played in a single play style, with players opting to jump in with the vanilla settings of Metro 2033 or with the more tweaked settings of Metro Last Light. Both games will also come with Ranger Mode unlocked, in case anyone's looking for a challenge. Each of the new Redux titles will feature all of its respective DLC.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
