EA is kicking off a new Origin program that gives players limited time with a full game. It's called Game Time, and sets a clock that lets you play any mode and achieve any level of progress you want for as long as you have time remaining. It's debuting the initiative with a free weekend for Titanfall on PC.

Titanfall will be available for 48 hours, and the clock will start ticking in real-time as soon as you start the game. It will also be saving your progress, so if you want to pick up the full game afterwards you won't have to retread old ground.

EA notes that each Game Time offering will be different, with its own set playtime on the clock. A shorter game, for obvious reasons, wouldn't last 48 hours. Titanfall will appear on Origin's free games page when it's available in your region, so if it's not there yet just check back.

I like it. Now I can just play it whenever I get the inkling. Who knows, maybe the non-beta maps will sway me and make me want to buy it.

For a game like Titanfall, where you need to connect to some number of players before the game will connect to a server, I think something closer to a Steam Weekend model would have worked better. EA would be risking issues with servers getting overwhelmed, but at least you'd hopefully have plenty of people to move people through the lobbies more effectively. When I play, I spend way too much time trying to connect to a team. :P

This is a bad move for EA titan fall only fasts a weekend then you are bored of the dull game play seems like this will just hurt sales more than any thing given the short life of titan fall been fun to play.

The download is 21GB but Origin is bad about giving specifics. So you'll see your download speeds shoot up to impossible levels as it's uncompressing and installing to that 50GB during the download.

Well, it is the entire game they are giving you access to and not a traditional demo. Steam does the same thing with the free weekends for its games, except the window has a predefined beginning and end. The 48 hours here starts ticking when you first launch the game after downloading it.

played it for 5 hours and it was great. i got about 3/4's way through the online campaign and now it's sleepy time. when i wake up i'll play it some more. i wanna at least tackle the campaign mode so in the future when i do buy it (looking for that $20 price tag) all i'll have to do it multiplayer.

you NEED to finish the campaign mode to acquire 2 more titan models. and if the campaign mode dies out you may not be able to get said models later.

the campaign mode is fun, but the only thing that kinda sucks is if ppl start quitting you HAVE to do some of the campaign over. i've did a few stages multiple time over and while it's not that big of a deal now i do kinda want to be done with it. /meh
