Lego Minifigures Online, Funcom's block-based take on the MMO, has now hit open beta. You can visit and start plugging away as tiny, yellow versions of historical figures and unique vocations.

The official site has a "Play Now" button (via Rock Paper Shotgun). It's browser-based, so it should be easy enough for any relatively competent PC to run.

It only has some minifigs for now, but the plan is to ultimately introduce more than 100 of them. You'll choose from among them to make your squad of three characters, and Lego has mentioned plans to make them work in conjunction with the real-life individual minifig packs that you may have seen at your local stores.

Can I build things with Lego blocks in the game? If not, I am not interested.

Why is this a thing? That's one of the reasons i hated the last Lego MMO. I wanted it to be like an open world LEGO Batman meets WoW basically. finding secrets, gold bricks, new characters, and doing quests. If i wanted to build stuff, id play with real LEGO.
