Mortal Kombat X got its announcement last week with a teaser trailer, but NetherRealm was apparently saving the first taste of gameplay for tonight. At Sony's E3 press conference, it debuted a lengthy bit of gameplay with a look at two fights.

So...as I suspected it looks solid, but nothing to lose my shit over. Still confused as to why some folks were going bananas over the pre rendered teaser that looked nothing like this footage.

I was really hoping for those camera angles in the teaser. I've got MK9, should my fighting desire ever rise again.

Because everyone loves to make absolute and advanced judgments based on having .01% of the actual information needed to do so.

I'm in for day one, collector's edition. :D

      Game looks freak'n amazing.

My only worry is the interactables, I don't want MK to become clunky like Injustice.

Looks pretty fucking awesome to me. Dont know what others where seeing. From what I saw, looks like you have two fights at the same time. Much faster, x-ray is sweeter, new characters...cant wait.

The press release mentions that each character will have multiple versions this time that play differently - that video seems to have at least 3 Scorpion variants

The press release line: "For the first time, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style."

Then the most obvious one in the video is the Scorpion who has two swords on his back that he uses to fight with, compared to the 'normal' Scorpion

Haters gon' hate. MKX looks like MK9 with more characters. That's pretty much all I wanted. The fighting style is too new to feel old, at least to me.

I was trying to figure out from the video if they kept the Injustice back-to-block change or went back to a block button. Unfortunately there were ZERO blocks in that entire demo video.

Most likely it's back to being a button but I can still hope.

The block button is a pretty tried-and-true MK control scheme. I'd be really surprised if they changed that up.

I agree. Considering MK is the only fighting series I play, scrapping the block button would confuse me.

As long as it plays great online and the single player is as fun as the last one, im happy.

Hopefully it will be like 9 with tweaks, loving the environment attacks. Another bad ass single player and the ladder gameplay thing I'm in. Looks amazing and can't wait to see the whole roster!

Hopefully everything they learned and updated with Injustice winds up in this engine as well. There were a lot of janky bugs and issues that got smoothed out a bit from MK9->Injustice. I just hope they improve the online play and netcode, both games were iffy on consoles and TERRIBLE on PC when it came to playing online.

Yeah never really played mk9 much online.. and haven't played Injustice. I'm more of a single player fighting game player and vs with buddies.. not into playing guys online that play all day and can just beat the living shit outta ya ;)

Just give me that awesome story mode and challenge ladder mode again! Those were so fun.

I'm not a big fan of the mechanics of MK9/Injustice but the storyline was a lot of fun to play through as I flailed and button mashed through matches until I lucked out and won to move the story along.

I am psyched they're going with the no-UI look, just like I was hoping.
