It appears that Sony can work miracles, because the PlayStation 4 is about to give players the opportunity to play some classic adventure games. More specifically, Tim Schafer's classic adventure games! Double Fine will be teaming up with Disney Interactive to re-master Grim Fandango for PlayStation 4 and Vita. If that's not enough, Devolver Digital has a large lineup to look out for, as well.

Other indie games on the PlayStation docket include Broforce, Titan Souls, Not A Hero, and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. The brief indie montage concluded with an extended look at Croteam's The Talos Principle, a debut title coming soon to PlayStation 4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

This is AWESOME! I've been wanting to play this game for ages. I can't believe I missed it... I'm so glad I finally get to play it without jumping through hoops. I hope they don't mess it out. Cool stuff.

This will be so much bullshit if Grim Fandango doesn't also appear on PC in GOG (and Steam).

Remaster is fine on PS4, but give the original version to GOG.

PC gamers have been waiting for this re-release 16 years already and then they give it some console exclusivity. Wtf? I really hope it only means it's console exclusive on PS4/Vita.

Here's hoping the PC announcement will come during the next three days.

Yeah it's Sony's moment right now because they helped make it happen. Just chill there's no way they won't release it on PC, even if 6 months later or something.

The only thing that worries me is that Disney is involved and they are completely anti-steam

How are they anti steam? (Not questioning what you're saying, but just havent heard the details yet)

Disney is often anti-anything they can't control directly. Just look at how they do digital movie, more specifically how they do not participate in UV.

As long as it's not Origin exclusive I don't care.

I'm in the middle of a playthrough right now. Guess I'll quit and wait for this version instead!

Also damn I really hope this means that Disney is open to re-release all the old Lucasarts adventure games on PC.

Even though I own all the games as boxed copies, I would so support this movement and rebuy all from GOG.

Hope it lives up to the hype, when I saw the control scheme for the game back at launch I refused to play it.
I know some adventure / action games suit that (Alone in the Dark) but I really wasn't in the mood for my LA adventures to be an active (controlled) experience, I just wanted another mouse cursor, lean back in the PC chair and relax adventure game.

Having never played it, I'm going to GUESS that the good parts of this game is the story / writing / etc - and the control system is not why it was remembered. Assuming I'm right - this is why I was frustrated.

Yup! It's amazing the game was that good despite those clunky controls.

There were only a couple places that I can remember where you needed precision movement (or at least, quick movement) and the tank-style controls got a bit cumbersome. It's been ages since then, though, so nostalgia may be tinting my memory with rose-colored glasses a bit.
