Hatoful Boyfriend brings pigeon dating to PC this summer

"Pigeon dating sim" is probably a phrase no one ever expected to hear. Well, ok, it's definitely a phrase no one ever expected to hear. Yet, in 2011, the pigeon dating sim known as Hatoful Boyfriend became an unlikely hit in Japan. And now, Devolver Digital is bringing Mediatonic's pigeon dating sim (No, doesn't sound any less strange after reading it the third time) to North America.

Hatoful Boyfriend follows a human girl attending the prestigious St. PigeoNations academy for birds. It's filled with birds... for some reason. As you maintain your elective classes and meet interesting characters, the idea is to find romance with one of the school's aviary students. The game gained a cult following in Japan, with translations quickly finding their way overseas.

It's a bit of a fowl premise, but it's definitely a unique one. Hatoful Boyfriend will bring its coo mix of romantic dating sim and... birds... to PC and Mac later this summer.
