Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments trailer rounds up suspects

Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares have released a new trailer for Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, revealing a more complex detective story, ahead of the game's September release.

Crime is on the rise near Baker Street and when that happens, there's only one detective that can help unravel the mysteries that inevitably arise and that's Batman Sherlock Holmes! Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares have released a new trailer for Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, revealing more about the latest adventure starring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's greatest creation.

"There are six challenging and sophisticated cases to solve that involve murders, thefts, and disappearances," Frogwares' Olga Ryzhko says on PlayStation.Blog. "The game is investigation in its purest form. It requires you to act as a detective, to collect clues, to speak to witnesses and suspects, and finally to tie all the evidence together, making your own deductions, coming to your own conclusions."

Ryzhko adds that there are real consequences for misinterpreting evidence, noting that false convictions are possible. Even after finding the right suspect, Holmes has the option to condemn them to punishment or absolve them. The latter option throws in the complex idea of "crimes of passion" or the like, adding an interesting new twist to this type of game.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments is set to release in September on PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. For more, check out the trailer below.
