As previously noted, Killzone: Shadow Fall's upcoming Intercept expansion will take the PS4-exclusive in a slightly different direction. Rather than focus on a singular war against the Helghast, the expansion will center around a collaborative effort. Sony and Guerrilla Games have released a new video to help explain the game's new focus on teamwork.

"It's all about teamwork," lead designer Arjan Bak explains in the video below. "We really focus the game on having to work together as a team. Each individual player will have a role to play when in the mode."

Bak goes on to offer an overview for each of Intercept's classes, as well as some of the in-game bonuses that they can receive as the fight progresses. He also explains that development for Intercept began after the team had completed work on Shadow Fall's campaign and competitive multiplayer modes.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is expected to release this summer for Season Pass holders, with a standalone release coming this fall. For more, check out our preview.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
