Tetris Ultimate coming this summer to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4

With Tetris about to celebrate its 30th anniversary, it's time for the ubiquitous puzzle game to make the leap into the next generation of consoles. Ubisoft has announced that they'll be teaming up with Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov to create Tetris Ultimate for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as PC.

With Tetris about to celebrate its 30th anniversary, it's time for the ubiquitous puzzle game to make the leap into the next generation of consoles. After it was teased earlier this year, Ubisoft has announced that they'll be teaming up with Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov to create Tetris Ultimate for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as PC.

Tetris Ultimate will support competitive multiplayer for up to four players. Game modes will include Marathon, Endless, Ultra, Sprint, Battle, and Power-Up Battle.

A very brief teaser can be seen below. Tetris Ultimate is set to release this summer, with more information expected at E3.

    Marathon and Endless appear to be as close as we'll get. But I get what you mean. NES/Game Boy-era Tetris is still the purest form of Tetris there is.

      TetrisDX was the pinnacle of Tetris IMO. Still followed the basic rules, but had tighter controls. I've yet to find a version of Tetris as good as that one.
