New Mortal Kombat teased with promo poster

That's...gotta hurt

For the past few days, Mortal Kombat producer Ed Boon has been teasing the announcement of a new fighting game, which will take place on June 2nd. While some of his hints have been less than subtle, some new promotional material has surfaced that seems to indicate that we'll be seeing another entry in the bloody fighting franchise sooner rather than later.

What do we want from a new Mortal Kombat?

When the latest Mortal Kombat released in 2011, it basically answered the fans' prayers and then some. Returning the series to its traditional 2D roots, and combining it with a fantastic 3D presentation, the game fired on all cylinders, introducing raw, bloody fatalities and plenty of beat-em-up fun. But now the question is fresh on the minds of fans: will we be seeing a new one soon enough? Ed Boon, long-time producer on the series, has been hinting that a new Mortal Kombat is in the works, and bits and pieces of promotional material have been popping up with the dragon logo appearing on them. With E3 around the corner, it wouldn't be a complete surprise to know that a new game is in the works, with plenty of bloody action to follow.

Up to this point, the Wii U had not offered such support, but all that is about to change. Nintendo has announced that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will indeed support GameCube controllers with the aid of a new peripheral and will release brand new controllers to go along with the game.
