With quite a bit of marketing behind it, Watch Dogs was bound to sell well. Ubisoft tooted its own horn on just how well, having announced last night that it broke the company's internal sales records for first-day sales.

While Ubisoft didn't share specific numbers, the announcement states that Watch Dogs sold more than any other Ubisoft game in the first 24 hours. Given the speed of the announcement, it seems likely that the company is referring to sales to retailers, rather than consumer sell-through.

This isn't entirely surprising, given that Ubisoft recently announced that it had broken their records for most pre-orders for a new IP, and was in second place for their most pre-orders of all time. Pre-order figures tend to inform shipping allocations. CEO Yves Guillemot said during a recent earnings call that it plans to sell 6.3 million copies, a number it based on the steady success of Assassin's Creed games.

still enjoying it at the moment. Still plays a bit choppy on my PC, but with the config change from Console to PC it has made a big difference. Some of the missions are damn hard lol
