The Sims 4 gets creative with a new Build Mode

With EA's The Sims 4 confirmed for release, simulation fans are sure to get their latest fix from this series, especially when it comes to using the new Create-a-Sim mode. However, that's not all, as EA has just released a trailer that shows another creative tool that's coming to the PC release.

Valve delays Steam Controller to 2015

Valve recently made some major updates to its Steam Controller, and now it appears the device will likely be delayed into 2015. Valve's Eric Hope said that the feedback from playtests is providing a flurry of useful feedback, but taking all that into account and making the necessary improvements will take longer than anticipated.

Battlecry is a team-based multiplayer game without gunpowder

In 2012, Bethesda opened a second gaming studio in Austin, TX, the same neighborhood as Dishonored developer Arkane Studios. The studio would be dubbed Battlecry Studios, headed by former Star Wars: The Old Republic executive producer Rich Vogel. While the studio had begun soliciting jobs, there was next to zero information given on the studio's first project, nor would anything be revealed through the entirety of 2013. Today, Battlecry Studios has officially unveiled its first project: an animation-driven third-person class-based multiplayer action combat game, appropriately (if unremarkably) titled Battlecry. This free-to-play game is set to come exclusively to PC and Shacknews recently had the opportunity to try it out.

Not really dark, but more of everything looking blue/gray and desaturated. Half zombie like.

Find them on the front page each day, typically around the 9pm EDT/6pm PDT timeslot. You'll also find the link in Chatty if you scroll down. Or you can simply find the videos on our YouTube page.

Just a thought but from what I remember videos could be embedded at the top of the chatty. Might be worth trying tossing the shack snack of the day up there (with autoplay turned off) or some other big videos of the day up there.

It's more of an eye catcher. A lot of new content pieces tend to disappear in current news feed so it's at least more prominent this way.

It looks good and is well produced but getting your news updates by video is pretty slow, and I dunno, it just doesn't do it for me.

What I'd love to see in the Shack is you guys using your industry connections and bridging those with the community. By that I mean things like:

      - Getting questions from the community to ask devs. I see this come up again and again and the questions are usually really good.

      - Bring developers into the Chatty for Q&A sessions, then take the output of that and turn that into an article to post on the website.

I kind of feel like I can get my news anywhere and unless you want to throw the same resources at this as IGN does, it'll always come off second best. I think the Shack could be a place for more creative articles and stories.
