The folks at Undead Labs are ready to release their new expansion for the zombie survival game, State of Decay. The DLC, which follows the exploits of a diminishing military unit, is set to arrive on Xbox 360 and PC on May 30, alongside a new title update that helps enhance vehicle storage capabilities.

"If all goes well, this may be the first time in gaming history that a game was released BEFORE the official public target," reads the announcement from the Undead Labs website. "It's a long story, best told over copious quantities of frosty beverages, but the short version is that both the Undead Labs team and the crew at Microsoft has been burning the midnight oil to make this happen before State of Decay celebrates its first birthday."

Lifeline is expected to arrive with a free title update called Rucks In Trucks. This will grant all vehicles working trunks, allowing survivors to go on supply runs throughout the world. The downside is that if a vehicle is destroyed, so is anything stored in its trunk. As in real life, some vehicles will have more trunk space than others.

IGN was the first to premiere the new Lifeline DLC trailer, which can be seen in its entirety below. The Lifeline DLC will be available for $6.99 on both Xbox 360 and PC.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
