This is awesome, do you know if the splitscreen can be toggled between vertical and horizontal mode? The vertical in the video looks like it would work a lot better IMO.

The video showed vertical mode, and previous versions had horizontal. I think vertical would be a lot better, but it would be nice to have the option.

I agree: vertical would work better; I just want the option in case MY WIFE balks at a vertical split.

Well, hopefully Nintendo will patch that in later. There's also a minor framerate-judder issue (the game basically plays at 59fps) that I definitely noticed playing it at gamestop. It would be awesome if Nintendo fixed that too

More importantly, how much is it going to cost? It's neat you can save 5 bucks if you bought Super Mario Kart but if it costs 10 bucks more than in retail (just like all over games), it's kinda pointless.

Yeah, I like this feature.
Might work better a week or two later, though, after the rest of the population has played it, but it's still fresh in our minds.
