EA revealing six new games at E3

EA will be announcing six new projects at its E3 press conference on June 9.

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo just a few weeks away, companies are already making plans for some big reveals. Electronic Arts is no exception, as the publisher reportedly has six new projects that will be unveiled. That's not a typo.

Geoff Keighley tweeted today (via Polygon) that EA's press conference on June 9, which will also air on Spike TV, will include "six new game reveals." In a statement, EA noted that the event will include more information on already revealed games, including the new Mirror's Edge that was hinted at last year and Dragon Age: Inquisition, as well as Star Wars: Battlefront. EA also stated that these will be "new projects and intellectual properties currently in development."

These could be anyone's guess, but the new Mass Effect project from BioWare and Visceral's Star Wars game--with Uncharted director Amy Hennig on board--are likely to be involved somehow. We'll provide the full rundown once it's official.

Please give us a 'next gen' Dead Space.

Dead Space is dead. The last one got really lukewarm reviews and was a sales disappointment. Visceral is doing Star Wars now.

I dunno man, I'm pretty excited about them making a lucas-free star wars game.

Dead Space 3 was actually a pretty awesome co-op game - I'd like to see more of that (though I get the complaints about it being more action-oriented).

All I care about is Mirror's Edge. Yeah, I'm weird like that.

Mirror's Edge is in my top 3 all-time favorite "modern" games, but I have little faith in the sequel (no pun intended).

If I were a betting man (which I'm not... at least not with stock), I would:
      1. Buy EA stock now.
      2. Wait for EA stock to rise during E3 and right after E3.
      3. Sell EA stock the day before their next big game release.
3a. Optional: Short EA's stock too.
      4. Watch EA stock tumble following horrible launch.

So what are the games going to be? NHL 2015, NFL 2015, NBA 2015, MLB 2015, The Sims Extreme DLC Edition and a shooter?

I would guess a Mass Effect game and whatever Star Wars game Visceral is making.

Battlefront probably. we've already seen a Hoth teaser for it.

Battlefront is DICE, and since they announced it at last year's E3, I doubt they'd count it as "new" this year.

I'd say at least one Star Wars game is a good bet, likely the one Visceral is working on.

Can't imagine them doing an MLB game, it'd have about zero marketability outside the US (unlike NBA, NHL and Madden).

EA stock actually just took a big jump after they announced better than expected earnings. It's ALMOST back up to where I bought it in like '07 :(

The market doesn't react to project announcements, it reacts to earnings and actual releases.

I'm just waiting for it to get pst 40, that was my staff discount price and it's been well below that for ages. :(

Fingers crossed they make a killing on the Star Wars license though, sure!

I'd be very surprised to see MLB 2015 given that EA doesn't have the license.

BF5 - Trust us, it'll work this time!
BF6 - Well, if 5 doesn't work out so well...
TF2 - Why let Activision have all the fun with Infinity Ward Respawn?
Sims 37 - People keep buying it, so I dunno?
SimCity 6 - Offlin... Oh who's kidding, ONLINE ONLY AGAIN!
Mass Effect 4 - Hey MS, we have a sci-fi shooter game we can annualize too!

      My guesses:

Star Wars: Knights of the New Republic (Obsidian?)
Star Wars "Grand Theft Speeder" (EA Canada's open worlder)
      Spore Evolution / Sim Planet
Dead Space: Some sub title other than the number 4, possibly done by third party developer
EASports: a family friendly multi sports package without standard license tie ins.
      Avengers: Age of Ultron
