Eat like a Pokemon Master this weekend

This week's 8-Bit Cuisine takes us to the world of Pokemon for some delicious spiced cookies.

No one ever caught "em" all on an empty stomach. Our culinary journey continues in Lavaridge Town from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. It's there where you find delicious spiced treats, and we're going to show you how to make some you can actually try for yourself.

These cookies are substituting for the significantly harder rice crackers found in the game, but who doesn't love cookies? And they are still lava-hot, thanks to some cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and chili powder. They're super-effective.

Let us know how they turned out for you, and make your own requests for recipes you'd like to see in a future episode.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 cup sugar

3/4 cup melted better

1 egg

1 egg yolk

1 tbsp vanilla extract

2 cups chocolate chips

2-3 sheets of nori

YIELD: 2 dozen cookies

I'm a little hesitant to try this. A spicy cookie seems a bit odd. Spicy rice cracker makes more sense, honestly. The "light" quality of the rice cracker works better with the firey taste, versus the soft doughy richness of a chocolate chip cookie.

      Looks pretty good.

Though I would probably substitute the milk chocolate for dark chocolate to better complement the taste of the pepper.
