The pre-E3 promotion continues to build, as Ubisoft has unveiled a sequel in the Far Cry franchise. Far Cry 4 is coming for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 18th. It will get a full unveiling next month at Ubisoft's E3 press conference. This sequel takes place in Kyrat, full of traps and a supremely confident madman who has gone and appointed himself king of the region. (That's him on the cover.) As per the previous games, you'll have access to an open world to hunt animals and take on adversaries aplenty, using a number of new weapons and vehicles. "Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise gamers and exceed fans' expectations," said Dan Hay, executive producer of the series. "Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we're eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months." Fans can go ahead and pre-order the game to get access to the "Limited Edition," which includes Hurk's Redemption, a pack of three single-player missions featuring the return of the familiar character from Far Cry 3's downloadable content. In addition to these new challenges, you'll also have access to a new weapon, the Impaler.

Look everyone, Hurk's back!

Agreed. I like FC2 and then loved FC3, but by the end it was certainly getting repetitive. As was Blood Dragon on top of that, but there the whole facelift and "don't take this serious" attitude was so refreshing and funny I didn't care.

What bugged me more is when I got to Assassin's Creed IV and felt like it was converging too close with FC (as you said regarding Ubisoft games). At points it seemed just like 3rd person Far Cry (or vice versa). The game engine, art, locales, go collect all the feathers/trinkets, mission structures, etc. just getting way too similar.

I love that the first 2 images of the game are a foppish military madman and an overly excited guy holding an overly phallic gun.
