The Stanley Parable Announcer Pack adds dry British humour to Dota 2

Valve is adding some sardonic British wit to its announcer roster with The Stanley Parable Dota Announcer Pack, which introduces The Stanley Parable's droll and sarcastic Narrator's unique take on the action.

"This is the story of a man named Stanley. Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was Employee #427. Employee #427's job was simple: he sat at his desk in Room 427 and he played Dota 2 every day of every month of every year."

Wait, that's not how that story goes. There's certainly no "Dota 2" in The Stanley Parable. But Dota 2 is getting a dose of The Stanley Parable now that the latter game's popular British-accented Narrator has been included in the latest Dota 2 Announcer Pack.

The Stanley Parable Dota Announcer Pack will introduce the Narrator's pleasantly droll and mordant meta-commentary to the action. Creator Davey Wreden originally hinted at the Narrator's inclusion to the Announcer ranks back in November, shortly after The Stanley Parable was released on PC. As Wreden told Shacknews in a tongue-in-cheek correspondence earlier this week, the Narrator will help make Dota 2 "not only understandable, but even downright accessible to the common layperson."

Players can pick up the Stanley Parable Dota Announcer Pack for $10 from the Dota 2 store, with a special 10% off rate available for the first 48 hours. Those looking for more of the Narrator's shenanigans can also pick up The Stanley Parable from Steam this weekend for 50% off.
