Moon Chronicles, the episodic 3DS revamp of the DS first-person shooter Moon, will start rolling out later this week. It's been split into four parts, but the first one will hit with this week's eShop update on May 15.

Renegade Kid tweeted the announcement (via Joystiq). As previously reported, this first episode contains chapters 1-4, along with six training missions, for $8.99. The subsequent episodes will contain three chapters apiece, and be priced at $1.99 each. This also may pave the way for a sequel now that the studio has the Moon rights, as it hopes to use the base game to add new Moon content if the first one does well enough.

Take a look at the original.

I didn't know they had remastered Moon for the 3DS! This is almost a system-seller for me.

I had never heard of this game. It looks really good, I think I'll have to try it out.
