It's been five years since Killing Floor let loose hordes of mutant specimens onto the streets of London and all over Britain. Now Tripwire Interactive has announced Killing Floor 2 for PC and SteamOS. This time, the fight spills onto new countries, and the action is going to get gorier than ever.

Killing Floor 2 picks up a few months after the events of the original game, as the deadly mutating outbreak spreads across central Europe. Survivors and mercenaries must band together, equip themselves with powerful weapons and perks, then blast away the oncoming menace.

Tripwire promises to kick up virtually all aspects of the game. The sequel features six-player co-op with a large variety of characters to choose from. You'll need all the help you can get, because there will be new, smarter, monsters coming to eat you. New weapons will be offered, ranging from modern assault rifles to crazy "Mad Scientist" weapons. The Perk System is getting an overhaul with more meaningful choices that amplify different play styles. Melee combat will also be upgraded with special bone-breaking attacks that can cripple Zeds. Lastly, of course, there will be plenty of blood and gore. Blood, limbs, and entrails will be flying. Hopefully, not yours!

No release date has been announced, but you can check out the genetically infused teaser trailer below.
