Kinect Sports Rivals gets a dose of classic gaming goodness in new DLC packs.

New downloadable content is available for Kinect Sports Rivals. Directed at fans of Rare's classic games, the DLC includes five different Sponsor Story Packs. Although we weren't terribly impressed with , as shown our review of the game, we have to admit that this DLC theme managed to pique our interest. Sponsor Story Packs introduce familiar characters and elements from classic games. These include Banjo Kazooie, Battletoads, Blast Corps, Perfect Dark and Viva Pinata. They provide a little nostalgia for old-school gamers, and will perhaps remind them of better days... On top of that, new vanity packs are also available, so players can dress their champion with different sunglasses while the Super Salon Pack provides twisted hairstyles.

Rare also applied a free new update. Added features include team-based photo gallery backgrounds, a news button that reports events from around the Island, the ability to capture your greatest moments on video, and news articles that tie in with a running story banner. The content packs are out now through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Just try not to crash the Battletoads Jet Ski. It's been through enough already...
