That's The Sims' fault, not ours.

      This is...different. I approve.

I also wish I could date someone who loved to cook and did it all the time. That way I could be fat but not as poor from eating out all the time.

Just try your hand at cooking. Start with recipes and follow them to the letter. Simple ones like this are just that: simple. You'll be surprised at how easy it is the first time, and then times 2 - 20 will be a snap.

Also, pancetta is just salty peppery bacon. If you wanna get mostly the same flavor, just buy some bacon ends and add pepper to the pan when you fry it.

also important, i think, especially when you begin to move past just following recipes by rote and into creating your own dishes, is not being afraid to fail. just... cook. the worst that happens? you goof it up, learn something in the process, throw it away, and go out or order a pizza. no big deal.

i hear it time and again, people saying they dont cook because theyre afraid of messing it up. dont be, theres no food police.

And with the availability of Sriracha, there isn't much of a downside if you do screw up. Only a truly epic screw up can stand up to the culinary blackout marker that is Sriracha.

This is honestly the first time I've ever read front page stories. I like this new Shacknews cooking thing.

Agreed. It's cooking for geeks: it's good food, has a bit of a video game tie-in, and isn't terribly complicated. Anyone who can follow basic instructions and has full motor control should be able to do this.

Oh yes, and many thanks for not including tons of dumb jokes in the show. Not everything has to be funny. This is just plain interesting. Also, appetizing.

Pretty good but it needs more references to the game and a bit of humor to take off. It feels like an above average youtube recipe with a very short video game intro tacked on by someone else.

No, don't force the humor! If humor happens, it happens. Don't try to make this good cook tell bad jokes.

If you insist on humor, find some witty game-name to cook with the gal.
