Sure, there's a lot of platforming and vacuum-style sucking action to be found in Kirby Triple Deluxe, but the pink puffball isn't the only one that gets a chance to shine in the upcoming 3DS release. The gluttonous King Dedede will get his own playable game mode, which can be seen in the game's latest trailer.

The burly king stars in a minigame called Dedede's Drum Dash, a rhythmic jumping game that sees him bouncing atop bongo drums in an effort to collect coins. Coins are scattered across both the top and bottom screens, meaning Dedede will have to measure his jumps in order to collect everything.

You can feel the rhythm by watching the trailer below. Kirby Triple Deluxe arrives on May 2.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
