With The International regional qualifiers rapidly approaching, Valve is hoping to help add a little bit of polish to Dota 2. That's why the game is set to undergo a large (and I mean large) amount of small changes with the upcoming Spring Cleaning update.

The Spring Cleaning update, which will arrive in conjunction with Gameplay Update 6.81, adds dozens upon dozens of changes across the game's inventory system, interface, and workshop. It also adds a gargantuan list of bug fixes and balance tweaks across all of the game's Heroes.

The update also adds a pair of new chests: Treasure of Sinister Arcanery and Treasure of the Cosmic Abyss. No seal or treasure drop will be required for either of these items, as they can be purchased directly from the Dota 2 Store or picked up from the Steam Community Market. Each pickup will grant a full set when unlocked and also has a chance for a bonus drop.

The Spring Cleaning update is expected to hit next week. The full list of changes can be found on Dota 2's website.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
