It's been four years since Just Cause 2 dropped onto the scene. And it looks like the world is finally ready for a new one.

Internet sleuth Superannuation spotted a registration for justcause3game.com by CSC Corporate Domains--publisher Square Enix's corporate domain registrar.

A new entry in the series would not be surprising, especially following remarks by Avalanche boss Christofer Sundberg, who told Eurogamer that the franchise would be "perfect" for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, adding he sees "a very bright future for Just Cause."

"My opinion is that the JC IP is perfect for everything that next-gen has to offer," he said.

Andrew Yoon was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

I did not expect JC2 to become one of my favorite games, but something about it is infinitely replayable to me.

If they can get Saints Row 3 (and 4) style coop going, that will be awesome.

Sweet. If they're like most companies they'll just take all the modding community's ideas too, which have been pretty great.
