PS4 firmware 1.70 available April 30

Firmware update 1.70 adds a number of big features to PlayStation 4--notably, a robust video editing app and game pre-loading. Sony has announced that the firmware update will be available on April 30th.

While the announcement was made via PlayStation Europe's Twitter, firmware updates typically go live worldwide simultaneously.

The full list of features for 1.70 has yet to be revealed, but it also turns off HDCP protection, and enables video export to external drives--two features perfect for dedicated video recording enthuisasts.

  how bout an update where you turn off the fucking controller light? ans an update where you can play external media from a usb drive?

    Yeah,the light constantly being on is stupid,especially since that is more than likely the cause of the battery life being so so short.
    
    Along with being able to use external hard drives,I'm really waiting for the media server functionality.
