Toylogic's "large-scale multiplayer" free-to-play action game, Happy Wars, is jumping from Xbox 360 to PC. The game already has over a million players on console, and is one of the few games to feature content for non-Gold subscribers.

A closed beta version of the game will run from April 30 to May 13. Oddly, in order to apply, testers will need both a Steam and Xbox Live account. The closed beta will let users test almost all the features of the game, including single-player modes. Microtransactions will be disabled in the beta build, however.

Here's the Xbox 360 version in action:

Probably going to have achievements like some other PC games that sign into your Live account.

Live sign in required? Just when you thought Games For Windows Live was dead... IT RETURNS. (cue thunder)

Hopefully the Live requirement is only limited to the Beta.
