Ace Combat Infinity, Bandai Namco's free-to-play aerial combat game for PS3, will officially launch on May 27, the publisher has announced. At launch, the game will include a story campaign, co-op, and competitive multiplayer modes. And as with most F2P games, Bandai Namco promises frequent updates for the game, including a new PvP mode to be introduced after the game's launch. We were impressed by the high production values of Infinity, which make it look like an honest-to-goodness sequel. The game will be monetized through a "contract system," which boosts the performance of your planes and weapons systems. In addition, skins and emblems can be purchased for customization.

Anybody know if the story missions themselves will support co-op - or will the co-op mode just be a bunch of random stand-alone levels?
