Rising Storm, the standalone expansion for Red Orchestra 2, has done very well for itself since it released nearly a year ago. The multiplayer shooter has collected a number of accolades and Tripwire Interactive is celebrating by releasing a new Game of the Year Edition, which compiles all of the game's previous updates and adds a handful of new content.

Rising Storm GOTY Edition is headlined by a new team-based game mode called Search & Destroy. Players are given a single life to destroy one of multiple objectives by planting an explosive. The game mode is supported by ten of the game's maps.

Speaking of maps, Tripwire has added a whole new one called Maggot Hill, which is set along the region of Nhpum Ga. Three community maps (Phosphate Plant, Otori Shima, and Myshkovka River) have also been added to the main multiplayer rotation.

In addition to tossing in all of Rising Storm's previous updates, the GOTY edition will include all of Red Orchestra 2's multiplayer, just as the original version did. For more on Rising Storm's new maps and vehicles, check out the game's Steam listing and watch the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
