Outlast 'Whistleblower' DLC in hiding until May 6

Outlast's Whistleblower DLC may be a little too scary for the average person. It's so scary that it's going to miss its targeted April release and arrive on May 6.

It appears that Outlast's upcoming Whistleblower DLC will miss its originally-projected April release date. The newest tale of Mount Massive Asylum is now set to drum up some scares on May 6 for both PC and PS4.

According to Polygon, the reason for the delay is that the expansion needs some extra time to work out some final sound mixing issues and flush out the last of the DLC's bugs. The new release date comes from developer The Red Barrels' Twitter account.

Whistleblower tells the story of Waylon Park, while also establishing the origins of Mount Massive Asylum, prior to Miles Upshur's arrival. The DLC will also close the book on the sinister asylum, once and for all, by adding in an epilogue tale that takes place after the events of the main game.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
