In a universe inhabited by Mario, Link, and Samus, Kirby is one of Nintendo's most underrated characters. In fact, Kirby Triple Deluxe has largely gone under a lot of radars. But Nintendo is making a late push for its upcoming North American release with a new trailer.

The latest trailer (noticeably shorter than previously ones) shows Kirby utilizing many of his powers that he copies from foes, using his 'Bell' power to take cover and his 'Whip' power to whip enemies... whip them real good. It also shows off some of the classic Kirby platforming elements that harken back to his old-school NES and Game Boy platformers, like Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Land.

Kirby Triple Deluxe is set to arrive in North America on May 2, nearly four months after it released in Japan.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
