Portal's Kim Swift & Far Cry 2's Clint Hocking join Amazon Game Studios

Amazon is getting really serious about their video game ambitions. In addition to announcing exclusive games for their newly-announced Fire TV device, the company has acquired two big names to join Amazon Game Studios: Kim Swift and Clint Hocking, best known for their work on Portal and Far Cry 2, respectively.

In addition to Portal, Swift worked on Quantum Conundrum and Soul Fjord. Hocking has additionally worked with Valve and LucasArts. News of their move was first reported by Kotaku.

With the recent acquisition of Double Helix, it's clear that Amazon is playing for keeps. "We've heard from customers that they want more from the games they play on streaming media devices--games that are rich, unique and immersive," Amazon Games VP Mike Frazzini said earlier today.
