Hellraid: The Escape announced for iOS, coming in May

Techland announced a new game today--or to be more accurate, it sent out a notice assuring the press that the game it announced yesterday really exists. Such great timing! At any rate, the really-for-reals game is called Hellraid: The Escape, and it's coming to the iOS App Store on May 15 for $2.99.

Producer Andrzej Koloska created a prototype for an app based on Techland's Hellraid, and later got the full involvement of his studio, Shortbreak. Techland is also lending its own support, as it works on the PC and console Hellraid game. It's a blend of combat and puzzles that the creator says is ideally suited to be played with headphones, since he's trying to imitate a certain level of high-fidelity from its beefier siblings. And naturally, as an iOS game, it will get some post-launch updates with new puzzles, but Techland notes those updates will be free.

It also released a Vine to show off the gameplay in action. Hellraid, the PC and console game, is due later this year.
