Developer Red Thread Games (Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey) is throwing its hat into the virtual reality gaming ring with a new horror game called Draugen. This first-person horror game will support VR headsets, such as the Oculus Rift, and is targeting a 2015 release on PC, Mac, and Linux.

Draugen is set in 1923 Scandinavia, in which an American scientist must solve the mystery surrounding the mysterious disappearances of a town's entire population. As he explores the area for clues, his mind rapidly descends into madness when he begins seeing mysterious figures in the distance.

Red Thread confirmed VR support to Eurogamer. For more about Draugen and its journey into the Black Sea, check out the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
