Aksys Games has announced a release date for its upcoming first-person action-RPG, Mind Zero. It's set to release on Vita on May 27, meaning Gamestop's original listing was right on the money.

The story follows high school student Kei, who bonds with a weaponized being called a "Mind." Government forces soon chase after Kei, as he ventures out to discover the Mind's secret. He'll inevitably have to do battle with other Mind's, with Kei either doing battle himself or using his Mind (which may or may not be able to shoot Mind bullets).

Mind Zero will retail for $39.99. Watch the unique anime-style opening in the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
