Kerbal Space Program is taking a brief side step from its normal bout of updates to introduce the concept of asteroid redirection. In an effort to make it feel more like a real space mission and less like something out of a Bruce Willis movie, developer Squad is collaborating with NASA on this latest addition to the game and has revealed some new video of asteroid redirection in action.

Miguel 'Maxmaps' Piña details the steps that goes into grabbing asteroids, including building a better spaceship and using the advanced grabbing unit. As stated during the update's initial unveiling, each step taken in an asteroid redirect mission plays out just as it would in the real world.

To learn how to capture asteroids, check out the video below. The Asteroid Redirect Mission update is coming soon to Kerbal Space Program, which is available now on Steam Early Access.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
