Forza Motorsport 5 DLC cars are now immediately unlocked

Forza Motorsport 5's economy is about as far from perfect as it gets, but it looks like now you'll be able to buy DLC cars and actually use them immediately.

Forza Motorsport 5's economy has been the subject of controversy from the moment the game first released. Players have not been pleased with the idea of purchasing DLC cars that would then still need to be unlocked through in-game currency or even more real money. Four months after the game first launched, it appears that this finally will no longer be the case.

"As of today, players who have purchased DLC cars in Forza Motorsport 5 can add those cars to their Forza 5 garage immediately, at no additional in-game cost," said Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt on Xbox Wire. "And, moving forward, when you buy a Season Pass, a DLC car pack, or a single DLC car, you will be granted the one-time free addition of each car to your Forza 5 garage, without needing to purchase them with in-game credits or tokens. This goes for all current Forza Motorsport 5 DLC (including cars in previous DLC car packs) and it will be the case for all future Forza 5 DLC car packs. In addition, as requested by our fans, this most recent content update makes all of the initial 200 cars that launched with Forza 5 available as rental cars."

Token costs for many of Forza 5's cars have been outrageous, to say the least. Turn 10 previously attempted to "dramatically increase" credit payouts after each race, but it did little to solve the overall problem.

Greenawalt is also promising more updates to Forza 5, promising news in April about a free add-on to be added to the game.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

It amazes me that some devs still think people are so stupid that they buy into these schemes. Buying DLC and then pay through additional micro transactions to get the content? Seriously, if you suits read this, GTFO! Next time, don't bother even trying. Make good games, retain your reputation and everyone is happy to give you their money. Honestly!

You didn't have to pay through an additional microtransaction.

While you could use tokens (real money) to unlock these, it's mainly talking about not needing additional in-game currency to put these in your garage.
