World of Tanks free for all Xbox 360 players this weekend

Wargaming is helping bring Xbox 360 players World of Tanks for free for this weekend, even if you don't have an Xbox Live Gold membership.

World of Tanks launched in February on Xbox 360 with its free-to-play label intact, except for that whole Xbox Live Gold caveat that even Wargaming wasn't thrilled with. But at least for this week, everyone will get a chance to play World of Tanks on Xbox 360 for free, with or without a Gold membership.

The free period will begin this Friday, March 28 at 12:01AM PDT and run all the way through Sunday, March 30 at 11:59 PDT. This weekend will coincide with the release of new map, Prokhorovka, which is being issued after players completed the community-wide Map Madness campaign.

Wargaming makes sure to emphasize that this free weekend is free for everyone, even noting that Silver members that have used up their trial period can participate, as well.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

This should really say something like "available to Silver members" because that is what changed. The way it is worded implies it is not a F2P game normally.

it is not a F2p normally on 360 since you need to pay 60$ a year to have the privilege of playing a free to play game ... So yeah it doesnt apply to 360 or Xbo
