Diablo 3 PC on sale for $20; Crusader shown off

Diablo III may not have been quite what everyone wanted at launch, but after two years of patching, including a big revamp of loot recently, it's in pretty decent shape all right. With the expansion Reaper of Souls launching in a few weeks, now's probably the best time to buy the click 'em up yet, especially as Blizzard is selling it at half-price for a while, down to $19.95.

For those already in on the monster-clicking fun, Blizzard has also released a trailer delving into the backstory and abilities of the expansion's new Paladin-y class, the Crusader.

That's what you'll pay for the downloadable PC and Mac version in Blizzard's Battle.net shop.

The special price will be on offer until 11:59pm Pacific on March 23, Blizzard says. Reaper of Souls is due to launch on March 25. Look, see, here, meet its Crusader:

As a cheap man I can never pass up a sale.

But I wouldn't play this slimy bullshit even if it was free. The first major discount comes right with the expansion. Acti-Lizzard you may suck my toe(s).

A sale on the console version might grab me, the pc version sucks monkey balls

That's right, the pc version was so bad I'd rather play it on my couch with a controller.

online only single player game. Latency in a single player game? For real.

Plus the servers drop you sometimes (usually right towards the end of boss fights), and if your internet is down you can't play your single player game.

The graphics aren't very good anyway, so you might as well play it on a console

Tuesday maintenance sucks hard in Australia (and most of Asia) as it means I just can't play on Tuesday nights.

If I can play it by my self, it's a single player game. And since I can, it is.

quite literally no one in the world plays diablo 3 by themself. plus you could do the same in an MMO.

                  A. I play D3 by myself as much as I play any game on steam. Having chat available in game does not make it an MP game. And no, you cannot play an MMO by yourself (unless you quest around Silvermoon). There are people in the game with you. You can ignore them, but they are there. Even in a game like Guild Wars, where everything outside the cities is instanced, you are surrounded by other players in the cities.

All Diablo games were always best in single player for me. MP completely breaks the pacing and immersion for me, I don't like it at all. And console versions can be played offline, meaning - they are single player games too.

In my opinion, PoE is a modern implementation of Diablo 2 and so if you crave that it's worth a look. I played and enjoyed both games for different reasons. PoE is rather hardcore in that you have to know what you're doing so as to not mess up your character. That can either be rewarding or frustrating depending on the player. PoE also gets off to a pretty slow start, especially compared with Diablo 3.

I have all Diablo games in hard copy form. I want (when/if i get it) D3 in hard copy form too, but Amazon.com says it will take 2-4 weeks just to get it and my local Fry's doesn't have it at all (they match prices). Probably just wait until the XP comes out and grab the combo pack when it's made. /meh

Does that really matter in these days of digital? The disc is pretty useless as the content on it is super outdated after all the updates and changes, it's all tied to your bnet account anyway.

You can pay $60 for the digital deluxe if you want such things.

I'm bored out of my mind in WoW and I don't think I want to hang on until the next expansion, but at the same time, I'm not exited for any upcoming MMO. I want ESO to work, but I am not confident enough that it will, and I'm not sure what to think of Wildstar and it's future.
