This year is shaping up to be a big one for Game of Thrones fans. The new season of the HBO series begins on April 7, Telltale is working on a new, and now the popular Facebook game from developer Disruptor Beam, Game of Thrones: Ascent, is about to make the leap onto iOS devices this spring.

Kongregate and Disruptor Beam jointly announced (via IGN) that the social game based on the hit HBO series would hit iOS first before making its way to Android devices shortly thereafter. The game has garnered a large following, racking up over 2 million players across Facebook and the Kongregate gaming portal in 2013.

If this is the first you've ever heard of Game of Thrones: Ascent, the original trailer below will explain more about what the game entails.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Pretty sure it's already there, unless I'm seriously obtuse. I can already download and play GoT:A on my wife's iPad 2 in the Oz store. Granted, it's buggy, and my device account wouldn't load up after 2 days. But still, it is available!
