Given Ubisoft's ambitious online plans for Watch Dogs, it's unsurprising that the company is running a beta for the game. A closed beta has been spotted on Xbox Live for Xbox One, although whether or not it'll be made available to the public has yet to be determined.

In Watch Dogs, players will be able to have their single player adventure "hacked" by others. In addition, the game supports extensive second-screen gameplay--including play over a 3G connection. Undoubtedly, Ubisoft would be keen to test these features before launch.

Reddit user AbleToFail (via Polygon) discovered a listing in the Xbox One store for "Watch Dogs Closed Beta." However, it's currently inaccessible. Ubisoft has yet to announce any kind of beta plan before the game's planned May launch.

I can confirm that this is strictly a closed beta and being under NDA i'm not sure I can discuss this any further. I'm also 99% sure that it won't enter a public phase. Hope this clears that up for you.
