Major League Baseball is already in spring training and the regular season will begin in less than a month. So it would make sense that MLB Advanced Media would have its revival of R.B.I. Baseball ready to go around the time teams throw out the first pitch. And sure enough, it appears that R.B.I. Baseball '14 will take the field for Xbox 360, PS3, iOS, and Android on April 10.

The release date comes courtesy of ESPN's Darren Rovell (via Joystiq). The game is also slated to release on "next-generation consoles," but presumed Xbox One and PS4 dates have not been set.

It should also be noted that with a month to go before R.B.I. Baseball '14's release, MLB AM has yet to reveal anything in terms of gameplay details, video footage, or even screenshots. Those will likely come soon, but it's hard not to notice that this game is taking a good while to warm up in the bullpen, especially since its closest competition, MLB 14: The Show will have already taken the mound on April 1.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
