Xbox One Twitch video explains it all

Twitch streaming will finally launch on Xbox One next Tuesday, with the launch of an update which makes the Twitch app actually useful. Microsoft has whipped together a video demonstrating exactly how it'll all work, from setting up your own stream to watching your chums. You know: streaming.

Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb also explains a few steps you can take now to prepare for Twitch streaming, so you can leap straight into it once the update goes live. You'll want to sign up for a Twitch account, and fiddle with your system settings to make sure it'll all work.

I wish one of the two consoles' Twitch apps would allow stuff like favorites and notifications. If it isn't some LoL or Dota stream you generally have to search for it every time.

Does it show who you are following. Following people is basically putting them on your favorites list.

I have a few channels favorited from the PC, and they sent alerts to my iPad app, but the apps on the One and PS4 don't carry those over.

I really wish twitch would establish some type of tags or category system. I want to browse "retro", "rpg" or "mmo" sometimes.

That'd be cool. I like watching some of the really janky PS1 games I've seen on there.

The One's bandwidth looks a bit higher than what the PS4 runs at. I hope they let users change the quality/bandwidth settings in a future update on the PS4.

It has 4 options that you can select for quality

"low (800kbps), medium (1400kbps), high (2000kbps) and also the option to “get a new recommendation,” which will apparently give you the ability to broadcast at an even higher quality setting if you have a fast internet connection."

It also broadcasts at up to 720p versus 540p.
