Defense Grid 2 also invading PS4 and Xbox One

The thrills, spills, and intricate mazes of tower defense are coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Defense Grid 2, publisher 505 Games has announced. Hidden Path's original Defense Grid: The Awakening was one of the slickest TDs around in 2008, so its sequel should fit in nicely on next-gen consoles. It's still on for PC, Mac, and Linux editions this year too, of course.

Hidden Path plans to hold a beta test for the PC version, but it isn't quite ready to give a date for it. We still haven't seen much of the game at all, really. Here, have a gander at this "early alpha" footage from last August:

This is for current-gen? Savage Moon looks better than this and that was for the PS3.

The footage is from very early Alpha, so yeah it's not even close to being the final look of the game. It doesn't even make sense to compare it to a finished game from years ago...duh
