Project Spark beta now open on Xbox One

After four months of public testing on PC, exclusive to Windows 8.1, Microsoft's game-making game Project Spark has jumped to Xbox One. Spark has all sorts of easy-to-use tools and assets to create your own fancy 3D games, and you can play other people's creations.

After four months of public testing on PC, exclusive to Windows 8.1, Microsoft's game-making game Project Spark has jumped to Xbox One. Spark has all sorts of easy-to-use tools and assets to create your own fancy 3D games, and you can play other people's creations.

Signups are open on the official website. If you're already signed up for the Windows 8.1 beta, you're automatically in it on Xbox One too.

Projects are saved in the skies above us as digital clouds, so you can swap back and forth between the Xbox One and Windows versions by inhaling deeply then spitting into your disc drive.

      I'm in the PC beta but still haven't played around with it, is it worth checking out?

        Definitely. I've been sort of floored by the variety of creations people have made. Someone even copied the beginning parts of Fable--quests and dialogue and all--via the creation tools.

          awesome, that's exactly what I was hoping would happen. I was concerned the controls of actual game systems would be too limited but if you can actually change the UI and other systems easily it sounds more powerful than Minecraft in many respects (but at the same time the additional complexity in doing that will turn a lot of would be creators off)
