Dust has sold over a million copies.

For years, developer Dean Dorill poured his heart and soul into the indie action/platforming game Dust: An Elysian Tail, finally releasing in 2012 with a release on Xbox Live Arcade and Steam. Aside from the soundtrack, Dodrill handled every aspect of Dust's development. Two years later, it appears that the effort has paid off.

In a tweet that posted yesterday, Dodrill announced that Dust: An Elysian Tail has sold more than one million units since its release. "Today, Dust: AET surpassed one million units sold," said the tweet.

The 400,000 or so from the humble bundle (hard to say how many people paid above the average) probably helped a lot.

I'd say it boosted sales about 40%.

or perhaps that it accounts for 40% of the units sold.

That guy is a friend of a friend, and is a very cool guy. Dean something. He lives or lived here in Denver and came to LAN parties and shit with us back in early 2000's. Not sure what he's been up to other than making mad coin on his game as of late.

I just played a substantial amount of this game yesterday. It's fun. I feel like I'm leveling a lot, but the combat system is a ton of fun, and the art is really purdy. Glad to hear that it's sold well.

I have been playing that for the past few days. The completion thing says I'm at 50% completed. The game is really fucking good, I wasn't expecting to enjoy it this much. I am glad to see he is seeing success as a result.

I like the game and the art but I can't stand the cutesy characters. Does this get better as you go? It's one of the reasons I can't really play a lot of Japanese games now.

i don't mind them being cute, but i think the character art is just bad. the dialog scenes in particular look like some middle school kids my first anime experience. the game is fun, though and the animation and background art is nice.

Loved that game so much. Hands down one of my favorite platformers. Although I thought the ending was a little weak
