This week was filled with some exciting stories in the world of games and our own Chatty community is getting to the heart of them through some playthroughs on Twitch. Just how much of a change is Diablo 3's 2.0.1 patch? Find out when jeffmoeller runs through the game in an effort to level up to 60 before Reaper of Souls arrives. Also, our own Giant Communist Communists fall in love with Amerish all over again in PlanetSide 2 and hemtroll shows us some quality Space Marine sessions.

Here's a compilation of some of the best Shacknews Twitch highlights for the week of March 1, 2014.

Diablo 3

Diablo 3's 2.0.1 patch includes some major changes to Blizzard's dungeon crawler. On top of introducing Loot 2.0, it also tosses in Cursed Chest events, the removal of the Paragon level cap, and adds Clans and Communities. But how much does that affect the average player? Watch jeffmoeller venture through the overhauled Diablo 3 to find out.

PlanetSide 2

This week offered a special edition of GCR Ops, as our Giant Communist Robots battled on behalf of the New Conglomerate faction on the revamped Amerish continent. Many of the changes were met with praise from Chatty, while any concerns have been heard by the game's developers, who are currently evaluating them for a future patch. Check out this week's GCR Ops below, led by squad leader nyranger66.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine

Space Marine continues to stand out as one of 2011's most overlooked titles. Relic provided a solid FPS game and a fun multiplayer experience to boot. hemtroll shows us how much fun Space Marine's multiplayer could be by jumping into Capture the Flag on the Manufactorum and Basilica maps.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Planetside 2 has made a lot of great changes lately. More shackers need to come back to the game and play.

Diablo 3 loot is such a huge difference. I got 3 legendaries in that playthrough last night, all for my class. Thanks for linking my vid Ozzie. This week I am thinking of streaming a combination of Demon's Souls (first playthrough) and Dark Souls NG+ to lead up to DS2.

I played from siegebreaker through to diablo on torment 1 the other night and it was fine and the new loot was good but afterwards I kind of felt regretful that I'd just spent 2 or 3 hours doing something I'd done for 60 hours already.

I'm unsure whether or not the new patch will extend the life of the game for me and if the expansion will be worth the $40(?).

The new loot generation combined with automatic level scaling especially. Part of the problem previously was that you could often be playing a character that's overleveled for the content, which in turn resulted in not finding gear that was high enough level to be potentially useful.
