As promised, Batman: Arkham Origins will be getting story-based DLC. "Cold Cold Heart" will be available on April 22, and it will tell the origin story of Mr. Freeze in the Arkhamverse. Described as a "mini chapter of the game," this add-on will include in-game missions alongside a brand new story.

New gadgets will also be introduced in the expansion. Of note is the XC, short for "extreme conditions." It will change gameplay to make Batman more resilient to the extreme weather effects of Mr. Freeze's henchmen.

The new trailer can be seen in minute one of the video below. The DLC will be available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360--but not Wii U.

You know what's more worse than a mediocre game? MORE of a mediocre game.

No, willingly walking further into the downward spiral of a mediocre game would be worse. But, I do like the idea of exploring the origin of Freeze. He's one of the few villains that's not necessarily out to get Batman. He just wants to recover his wife, but by any means.

I thought the game was pretty good. Better than Arkham City.

AO sort of makes me angry not because it's a bad game IMO, but it is a bad game that could have been great if it took its time to flesh many things out.

It looks like there were many ingredients there to make a great addition to the franchise but instead of a proper slow cook on a stove, they threw it together quickly and put it in the microwave.

Yeah, I'm finding it hard to want to play this despite loving the other games in the series because of their current position on post-release support.

How about they first fix the main game before doing any more useless DLC?
