Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze arrives next weekend and Nintendo thrown everything and the kitchen sink into one last trailer. Revealed at today's Nintendo Direct, the game's launch trailer shows off some more of the game's environments and its many, many, many obstacles, most of which will probably kill you.

Among the items shown off are more silhouetted-style stages, stages mired deep in sandstorms and active tornadoes, underwater madness that includes a giant squid striking from the background, mine cart levels that shift from 2D to top-down view at a moment's notice, and an assembly of sinister owls that smash helpless bananas!

If this trailer and our recent preview are any indication, Tropical Freeze will offer some of the series' most intense challenges to date. The Kong clan's latest adventure hits Wii U on February 21.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
