Nintendo has announced its follow-up to Steel Diver called Steel Diver: Sub Wars. Players control a submarine and navigate torpedo movement in an effort to take out enemy subs. The game will feature competitive 4v4 online multiplayer, along with seven different single-player missions and a slew of customizable subs.

As originally announced a year ago, Sub Wars will constitute Nintendo's first jump into the free-to-play realm. A free version of Steel Diver: Sub Wars will be available with the first two single-player missions, while the premium edition will feature the rest of the game's roster of subs. The game will be available later today.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Eight player multiplayer games could potentially be quite crazy deathmatches in events.

Other than that this doesn't give much. No idea what the single player is like and it costs 10€.
